How to Do Article
Marketing
There
are many reasons to do article marketing. Among them include
gaining authority, recognition as an expert in your field, and
trust from your current and potential customers.
Other reasons for doing article marketing
are you can become syndicated by websites looking for good
content to republish. Many webmasters need excellent content and
they look to article sites to use on their sites. And, you will
get one-way backlinks from the article marketing sites and from
the sites that publish your articles. Many of them are high
PageRank sites that will boost your search engine rankings.
What you should do is submit your articles
to sites such as Ezinearticles.com and Goarticles.com. As you
submit more articles in your article marketing program, you will
gain more visitors to your website. Additionally, your ranking
on the sites will increase.
Even if you have never written an article
before, there are steps you can take that will make it easier to
do.
Pick a subject to write about. Ideally, it
will be something for which you have passion.
Do keyword research to choose the title
and keywords in your article to make it easy for the search
engines to find.
Research the subject using your chosen
keywords. You will find tons of information about your subject
and good ideas for content. It is OK to use others ideas but it
is not OK to lift them word for word out of someone else's work.
Start out by jotting down your ideas from
the research. You can put them in a logical order later. This
should give you a good framework for writing your article.
Write your first draft, read it out loud,
and make changes, additions, and deletions. If you are
comfortable doing so, ask someone you are close to read the
article for flow and understanding. We often miss putting in the
right words because we mentally fill in the blanks that others
wouldn't.
Create an author box with anchor text
links back to your targeted web page. The sites such as
Ezinearticles and Goarticles let you do that.
Don't forget to put the author resource
box to work for you. This is the about the author section but
you don't need to write about you. You can instead say something
like "John Smith has a lot more information for you about
apples." Here you would make "apples" an anchor text link back
to the apples page on your website. Anchor text gives your site
reputation and authority in the eyes of the search engines.
Picture what would happen if your article
with high PageRank anchor text links pointing back to your
website was also picked up and republished by other webmasters.
The number of people coming to your site could skyrocket and the
authority of your website could go up dramatically. Now picture
what could happen to your article marketing if you had many
articles.
